Monday was Martin Luther King Day and we didn't have preschool. Instead we had some of our awesome friends over for pancakes in pajamas. It was a nice relaxing day. Wednesday we had a review day since it wasn't a full week of school. We started by playing "Fat Cat" by Junior Phonics. I intend to make a customizable game similar to this that has the 15+ letters we've learned so far and words that we know how to read. Look for that printable coming soon!
We also explored with the dot-art markers while we took turns "helping" to make the finger paint. I didn't get any pictures of the prep of the finger paints, it was quite a mess!Painting with the home made finger paints was almost turned into full body art!
When finger painting gets messy it's nice to have a class set of kid sized water bottles on hand. Give each kid a spray bottle and a rag and they LOVE to clean up their mess! I put the boys "in charge" of the table and the girls "in charge" of the bathroom where they had washed up after and they took great pride in their responsibilities, plus it was mostly clean after about 5 minutes :)
We've been working our way through our Touch Math curriculum and we're almost ready to move onto module 2! We're just finishing up learning the concepts of: equal, more than, less than. Module 2 is comparing and classifying. It's a perfect module to be working on when we study gum drops for Valentines!
