Summer Camp - Gardens and 3D Shapes

Pre-Primer Sight word cards are now listed {free printable} if anyone would like to download them and follow along with Preschool B this fall.
We had our playgroup friends come over today for our summer camp all about gardens and 3D shapes. We had so much fun reading stories and planting cucumber seeds!  I only got a few pictures since we were so busy, but check out the fun!
We started by figuring out which 3D shapes would roll down a board and which ones would just slide or just sit.  Then we started making our own shapes with toothpicks and marshmallows.
There were flat shapes like squares, triangles, and even a star.

And there were 3D shapes of cubes, a house, a pyramid and creations much beyond the imagination of any adult.  I certainly enjoyed the chimney making :)

Putting the marshmallows on the sticks was a great fine motor activity.  Another fine motor skill we did today was sorting different beans out of a small cup with tweezers into ice cube trays.
We also taped leaves to the table and did some crayon leaf rubbings.
Free explore of the blocks was a great hit, too!  CJ made "pizza" out of the blocks.  He even ran inside and returned with a toy knife to cut his pizza in order to serve it.  Mine apparently had shark meat :)
